Concert: Voices of Music - The Harmonic Labyrinth (Christopher Lowrey) (12/19/2019)

Another great concert put together by Voices of Music's David Tayler and Hanneke van Proosdij! Fiendishly difficult Locatelli "Labyrinth" concerto played formidably by Alana Youssefian, and other fireworks from Vivaldi concertos. Last but not least, superb performance by Christopher Lowrey!

聽Voices of Music的音樂會，享受又長見識。開頭的Handel Sarabande，1975年的電影Barry Lyndon經改編後大量採用。今晚VOM演奏自己的改編版本。

Locatelli的Labyrinth協奏曲，第一次聽現場演奏，因為一般人不會去輕易挑戰。早期Oistrakh與Szeryng表演的僅是片段，年輕女小提琴家Youssefian拉整首，可說是勇氣可嘉。在賣弄炫技之餘還帶有俏皮。或許有時操得過快，失了音準，但仍有架勢地演奏完畢。

下半場Vivaldi的協奏曲都是火花四濺的曲子，Skeen演奏向來熱情，這首大提琴協奏曲是第一次正式聽他拉獨奏。作品三之十一的協奏曲，或許是《調和靈感》最喜歡的一首，除了編制貼近Corelli的大協奏曲，第二樂章的賦格更是一絕。

不過今天重點還是請來的佳賓Christopher Lowrey。他的聲音充沛，coloratura炫技曲感覺也應付地輕鬆自如，不論在音量和裝飾上，都控制和拿捏得非常漂亮。

上半場唱的是Handel，下半場是Vivaldi。前面的音樂顯然較為熟悉，因為Vivaldi的歌劇還沒開始認真接觸。曲子安排也很有對稱性，Handel的三首aria，先兩首慢的再一首快的。到了Vivaldi則是先兩首快的(第一首絃樂效果讓人聯想起《冬》協奏曲的開頭)再搭配一首慢的。要寫出甜美感性的旋律，Vivaldi可是不落人後～～～
