Leclair: Première Récréation (Collegium Musicum 90/ Simon Standage)

Jean-Marie Leclair (1697-1764)是法國晚期巴洛克的作曲家。他最大的貢獻是將高超的小提琴演奏從義大利帶進法國，更是多學者公認的法國小提琴學派的創史人。

Leclair最早是拜自己法國藝術所賜，超初到義大利時是一位舞者，在Turin教舞蹈謀生。不過，他在義大利同時向Corelli的學生Giovanni Battista Somis學習小提琴，表現出過人的天份。Leclair在世時所出版的13部作品當中，有十部是義大利典型的奏鳴曲和協奏曲形式，只有三部是兩首組曲和一部歌劇，可見Leclair對於義大利音樂的影響和偏好。

Movie: An Education

"An Education" stars Carey Mulligan in her first lead role as Jenny and Peter Saarsgaard as David. It's a coming-of-age movie of a teenage girl in the 1960s of England.  Jenny is a high school teenage girl who is smart yet innocent, still unsure what she wants to do in life.  Jenny loves reading English literature, and her dream is to attend Oxford, although her dad has a different motive behind pushing her so hard.  In the times immediately preceding the feminist movement, a good successful life for a woman was to marry a wealthy husband.

Partiturbuch (Ensemble Echo Du Danube)

這張Partiturbuch收錄了當時十七世紀德語國家的宮廷器樂曲。如果仔細看這張CD所收錄的作曲家，大部份作曲家過逝年份，音樂之父巴哈連出生都還沒有。因此，這張CD上的作曲家們，可說真的都是他的大前輩。

這個Partiturbuch的編輯者為Jacob Ludwig，先後在Wolfenbüttel和Gotha的宮廷擔任音樂家。1662年，當他已經轉到Gotha宮廷時，想必是感謝前任顧主，Wolfenbüttel的Augustus公爵，便在Augustus的生日的時候獻上作為生日禮物。

Torelli: Complete works for 1, 2, 4 trumpets and orchestra (Orchestra della Cappella Musicale di San Petronio / Sergio Vartolo)

托賴里(1658-1709)是巴洛克中期的義大利作曲家，出生於維羅納(Verona)，不過音樂家生涯主要是在波隆那(Bologna)。他因為小提琴上的技巧被受肯定而得到Accademia Filharmonica會員。他在San Petronius教堂下的Cappella Musicale樂團擔任小提琴手，不過樂團因財務困難解散之後，他在幾年內遊走德國和維也納，一度是布蘭登堡-安斯巴赫藩侯(Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach)宮廷樂團的指揮。之後San Petronius教堂的Cappella Musicale樂團重新成立，他便又回到Bologna擔任其樂團的第一小提琴手，一直到他過逝。

Mondonville: 6 Sonates "En Symphonies" Op.3 (Les Muisciens Du Louvre / Marc Minkowski)

Jean-Joseph Cassanéa de Mondonville(蒙東維爾)(1711-1772)是法國巴洛克晚期的作曲家，在世的時候，和拉摩(Rameau)一樣，是當時十八世紀法國音樂 的重要人物之一。1731，他搬到巴黎後，1733出版了他第一部作品一的小提琴奏鳴曲，1734就進了當時「聖靈音樂會」(Concert Spirituel)樂團的小提琴手。Concert Spirituel是當時一系列的公眾音樂會，目的在將不同的音樂(當然以法國音樂為主)推廣至宮廷以外的人。參加音樂會的人，多半為比較有錢的中產階級和地位較低的貴族。

Telemann: Water Music and Hamburg Admiralty Music (Barockorchester Bremen + Alsfelder Vokalensemble / Wolfgang Helbich)

1723，是漢堡(Hamburg)成立海軍部的一百週年。當初漢堡同幾個歐洲重要港口城市，因為貿易而興盛。漢堡是帝國自 由城市，除了有錢的中產階級，還有部份的自治權。為了保護自己商船的安全，免於海盜的攻擊，持續海上貿易的進行，漢堡城1623正式成立海軍部。一年週年 慶，整個漢保市舉辦了隆重的慶典，不僅在港口的船開砲慶祝，更是擺了一整晚的宴席，一直到天亮。

Capel Bond: Six Concertos in Seven Parts (The Parley of Instruments/Roy Goodman)

Capel Bond (1730-1790) 是十八世紀裡英國當地的一位作曲家。他出生於英國西南邊的Gloucester，不過19歲時就到Coventry擔任風琴師，在那兒待到他過逝。當時英 國的音樂風氣相當盛，可能可說是全歐洲國家中，平均音樂活動最頻繁的國家。從皇宮到個當地大大小小的戲院及音樂廳，到處都有音樂家在表演。除了雇用許多歐 洲本土的音樂家，英國也生了不少自己的作曲家。

Movie: The Invention of Lying

What happens in a world where people don't have the ability to lie and just state the truth?  How do they deal with each other, knowing that people around them always tell the truth?  In "The Invention of Lying," we are transported to a parallel universe where people always speak their minds, with no holding back, ever.  Since they cannot lie, they have no concept of fiction, or even religion.  The result is a quirky but also funny world.

Domenico Gallo: 12 Trio Sonatas (Parnassi Musici)

Domenico Gallo 這位作曲家，知道這個名字的人，我可以肯定說是相當地少。關於他的生平，音樂的歷史上記載也是不詳。現在大致上知道的是他出生於1730左右的維尼斯，是 位出色的小提琴家。除了寫有大量的宗教音樂之外，也有寫了不少小提琴奏鳴曲和三重奏鳴曲，以及管弦樂序曲(巴洛克式)。

Boismortier: Six Concertos for Five Flutes Op.15 (soloists of Concert Spirituel)

Joseph Bodin de Boismortier 是法國巴洛克晚期的量產作曲家。在1689出生於Thionville，1755死於Roissy-en-Brie，有「法國泰雷曼」之稱的 Boismortier，出版的作品編號有高達102首，以巴洛克的標準來說，是相當地驚人。除了大量創作之外，他也跟Telemann一樣，具有一定的 創意，為多種不同的樂器組合寫曲子。這張CD錄的給五支長笛的協奏曲，便是這樣下的產物。因為不同民族所有的偏好，他大部份的曲子，仍是為長笛所寫，反映 出當時法國人對音樂的品味。因此，他也為當時很流行但今天幾乎不再被演奏的樂器寫曲子，像是hurdy-gurdy(手搖風琴)還有musette(小風笛)。

Movie: Whip It

"Whip It" is a light-hearted sports comedy movie directed by Drew Barrymore.  It is her first attempt at directing, and she does a fabulous job in it, surpassing my expectations for sure.

The movie stars Ellen Page as Bliss Cavendar, who is a rebellious high school teenager from a small town in Texas called Bodeen.  Her mom (brilliantly played by Marcia Gay Harden) works for the United States Post Office, but tries to get Bliss to attend the local beauty pageants, apparently the "proper" thing for the teenage girls to do in the town.

What a great invention, Youtube!!  I guess all this talk about Baroque music and no sound clip can still be very vague.  I've therefore started to attach sound clips of some of the CDs I've been reviewing.  Hope these pieces find whoever is interested well.

Youtube實在是好東西。可以上傳音樂，也不用擔心自己blog的空間有限。因此，開始在每篇介紹巴洛克音樂的文章裡，將上傳至youtube的連結，放在最下面。有興趣點閱來聽的朋友們，希望你們喜歡那些曲子。

Zavateri: Concerti da Chiesa e da Camera (Freiburg Baroque Orchestra)

Lorenzo Gatetano Zavateri 生於1690年，逝於1764年。他是當時波隆那(Bologna)音樂文化興盛時期下的產物。他的音樂訓練是在當地，相另一位作曲家Torelli學習 小提琴，並和Predieri學習合聲和作曲。在年紀輕輕的27歲，他便成為Accademia Filharmonica的會員，由當時義大利音樂界裡地位最高的音樂家所組成。由此可見，Zavateri在小提琴上的修為一定是令前輩們刮目相看。

Geminiani: Op.3 Concerti Grossi (Hogwood/Academy of Ancient Music)

傑米尼亞尼是巴洛克晚期的作曲家，與巴哈，韓德爾，還有韋瓦第等同輩的作曲家。出身於Lucca，他的爸爸是當地教堂 Cappella Palatina的小提琴家，也很有可能是他的啟蒙老師。他後來又先到米蘭與Lonati學習音樂。接下來，今天公認的說法是他到羅馬時應該有當過 Corelli的學生，在拿坡里時又有拜師Alessandro Scarlatti，雖然這都沒有明確的文獻記載。1707年，20歲的Geminiani回到自己的家鄉，從父親手上接下了教堂小提琴手的工作，任職有 兩年。 1711年，他再度回到拿坡里擔任某樂團的小提琴首席。不過，他愛過度即興的個性與喜歡將音樂的節奏弄得太有彈性，使他從小提琴手被貶為中提琴手。
